Unverified extortion / leak-site claim — Orova added Wisdom Oral Surgery, an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, to its dark-web leak site on July 3, 2026, claiming 20,308 files totalling 29.6 GB. When DataBreaches.net examined the listing in early August 2026, the "Watch Data" link returned a Not Found result, and an Orova spokesperson said the group had deleted the data and had not attempted to extort the practice. DataBreaches.net emailed the practice about the claim and received no reply, and noted that a genuine acquisition of patient files would still trigger HIPAA notification duties to affected patients and regulators regardless of whether the attacker later deleted the copy. No proof screenshots, data types or patient counts were published, and no HHS OCR filing was visible at indexing time, so recordsAffected is 0 and the row stays labelled unverified pending confirmation from the practice or a regulator.
