Donor member data: names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, according to municipal notices of October 23. Services that take donations were suspended while the investigation continued.

The 4,454,097 figure comes from the headline of a ScanNetSecurity article dated October 22, 2026; the article body was not retrieved. Municipal notices, including Nagoya City on October 23 and Tochigi Prefecture, confirm that donor data was leaked. One SmartScope analysis said it was still unclear whether personal information had leaked, but that analysis predates the municipal notices. A separate April 2026 unauthorised login affecting 2,688 accounts has not been linked to this incident by the operator.
Root cause
Suspected unauthorised access to the Furusato Choice portal. Trust Bank announced the incident on October 20, suspended related services and is investigating. The method has not been disclosed in the sources reviewed.
