2026 Texas Parks & Wildlife — license vendor breach exposes 3.09M hunters/anglers (DL + passport data)

On June 18–19, 2026 the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) disclosed that Texas Cyber Command detected a security incident at the external vendor operating its hunting and fishing license sales system. BleepingComputer reported June 19 that 3,087,721 license customers had PII exposed including driver’s license information, passport numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, and residential addresses. TPWD stated Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and financial/payment data were not impacted, and that customers under 18 were not involved. The vendor name was not publicly disclosed at initial reporting. TPWD is offering one year of credit monitoring and working with the vendor on enhanced monitoring.
