2026 Tesla — Tata Electronics supply-chain leak; Project Highland & NV36 chargeport trade-secret documents alleged (unverified by Tesla)
Data compromised
Researcher-reviewed World Leaks files purportedly include NV36 Chargeport Controller (North America) folder for upgraded Model Y parts, 2023 Project Highland Model 3 TRADE SECRET drawings, May 2025 assembly specifications, and manufacturing specs with Tesla Inc. confidential/trade-secret footers—Tesla did not confirm or respond to Reuters; not a Tesla corporate systems breach
Technical writeup
Tesla supply-chain document exposure — June 2026. Reuters reported June 22, 2026 that World Leaks published 200,000+ files (~630GB) stolen from Tata Electronics, an Indian manufacturer industry sources say also produces Tesla components (primary incident indexed under tata-electronics-worldleaks2026). Indian researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia reviewed the archive for Reuters and described Tesla-related material including: (1) a folder titled "NV36 Chargeport Controller - North America" referencing purported parts for an upgraded Model Y SUV; (2) a 2023 document labelled TRADE SECRET with drawings tied to Project Highland—Tesla's known codename for the revamped Model 3; (3) manufacturing specifications and a May 2025 assembly document surfaced via Tesla keyword search; (4) file footers citing confidential, proprietary trade-secret status of Tesla Inc. Tesla did not respond to Reuters comment requests and had not issued a public confirmation of document authenticity or scope at initial reporting. This is an industrial-espionage/supply-chain confidentiality event—not consumer account PII. BreachHistory indexes recordsAffected 0; treat document inventory as researcher-verified samples pending Tesla forensic attestation.
Root cause
