JAL initially reported unauthorized access to Same-Day Baggage Delivery reservation system on Feb 9, 2026; up to 28,000 customers' names, emails, phone numbers, flight info, hotel names may have been exposed. On Feb 17, JAL clarified: no external leak occurred. An employee of a contracted maintenance operator accidentally deleted data and altered access logs to conceal the error.
