Evanston Township High School District 202 confirmed a ransomware attack discovered June 7, 2026 that disrupted access to district systems, internet services, and phone infrastructure, forcing closure of Evanston Township High School on June 8–9 and canceling summer school and sports camps. Communications director Reine Hanna told ABC7 Chicago the district engaged forensic cyber experts, legal counsel, and the FBI while working to restore emergency and operational systems before reopening June 11.
