An investigation into a few stolen Social Security checks that had been fraudulently deposited into Duluth banks uncovered three separate identity theft rings.  At least six conspirators managed to defraud 5,779 people.  A former real estate broker created a tax service company in order to access credit reports from a third-party credit reporting agency.  Names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers were exposed.  The former real estate agent then made about $2.5 million by stealing Social
