Data compromised

Internal manufacturing/enterprise data; any customer or employee PII exfiltration described mainly through criminal forum marketing

Technical writeup

Taiwan-based Delta Electronics, a major contract manufacturer for global tech OEMs, disclosed that Conti ransomware operators encrypted portions of its network around late January 2022 (public reporting clustered on January 22–29, 2022). BleepingComputer, The Record, and SecurityAffairs cited actor bragging about ~1,500 servers / ~12,000 endpoints encrypted and a large Bitcoin-denominated ransom demand, while Delta emphasized work with authorities and that many systems were non-critical or restored without paying. Interpret exfiltration/PII breadth primarily through actor claims versus sparse public victim notifications.

Root cause

Conti ransomware intrusion and mass encryption (per vendor admissions to press and sector reporting)
