Verified healthcare data breach — disclosed June 2026. Centers Lab NJ LLC (Centers Laboratory), a Cedar Knolls, New Jersey diagnostics provider serving healthcare organizations, learned of suspicious IT activity on August 25, 2025 and determined an unauthorized actor had limited access to systems from August 9 through August 14, 2025, copying data from impacted systems. Forensic and data-review specialists identified personal and protected health information including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state identification numbers, passport numbers, health insurance information, and medical information; not every data type applied to every person. The U.S. HHS Office for Civil Rights breach portal listed 542,377 individuals affected. The WorldLeaks extortion group (successor persona to Hunters International) listed Centers Laboratory in October 2025 and later published more than 1.6 million files totaling approximately 720 GB allegedly stolen from the company, including patient test records and laboratory reports per trade reporting. Centers posted a substitute notice, filed with multiple state attorneys general, and offered a dedicated assistance line at 1-833-502-8681.
