Updated July 8, 2026: AssuranceAmerica now confirms 6.99 million people were affected—making this the largest known spill of Americans' driver's license numbers in 2026, per TechCrunch. See also our July 2026 deep dive.

What AssuranceAmerica disclosed

Hackers were discovered in company systems March 17, 2026. The investigation concluded June 15. Stolen data includes names, contact information, driver's license numbers, auto policy and account details, driver and vehicle information, and claims data per the customer notification.

Action items

  1. Freeze credit if your notice cites SSN or DL exposure.
  2. Watch for July 10 notification mail from AssuranceAmerica.
  3. Reject insurance phishing citing real policy fragments.
