2026 Asiana Airlines — Amadeus reservation-system breach exposed booking reference numbers; no customer count given
Data compromised
Booking reference (reservation) numbers, according to Korean-language reports on the airlines' notices. Payment card numbers are reported as not included. The customer count has not been stated.
Technical writeup
The English-language MoneyToday report names only Korean Air as affected. Korean-language reports, including ZDNet Korea on October 24, say both airlines confirmed the leak on October 23. This row therefore rests on thinner sourcing than the Korean Air row. Asiana Airlines has not, in our sources, published a customer count.
Root cause
The same Amadeus incident as Korean Air. Amadeus notified the airlines late on October 20, 2026. Korean-language reports say the intrusion used login credentials assigned to an account in Amadeus's system, with an estimated access window of August 2023 to September 2026. Asiana Airlines says it is strengthening security measures. The exact timing is still under investigation.
